January 27, 201312 yr Attach a image.. I am using a if statement to either export a xlsx or a xls so having 2 different Export cmds  how come it works then it doesn't .. does it have something to do with the xcel file is open or in use ?  i can output both   then it doesn't work  Can't figure  Also.. I noticed, when i go into the matching dialog..  I select my source to export... my source  not saving or stayin its field.  If select my source file.. ..just exit come back in  or save and come back its pointing to another source file?.   if I use dialog box.. I have to click on source to seem to make it focus?  My data source appears ok  any clue comes to mind?

January 28, 201312 yr If the file is in use ( you open it after the export and don't close it) then yes, you would get an error. Other than that, we would need to see how you create the output path in order to troubleshoot. more reading... seem like this is a common thing. for some... . some states to remove the FM preference file where is this.. can't find.. any of this.. I am wind7 fm 11 adv Home -> Library -> Preferences -> FileMaker Preferences -> FileMaker Pro 9.0 Prefs (or FileMaker Pro 9.0A Prefs for FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced) Based on the path, this seems to be a Mac thing. FM on Windows does not have a preferences file, it stores its settings in the Registry. But there is nothing there that would produce the error you are seeing. The error is generated by something that you do in your script.
January 28, 201312 yr Is the file Locked? This can happen if you use a Thumb drive to move a file sometimes. To check, go to the finder and do a Get Information.
