Hey all. What's the best way to have a field display the latest record in a portal row? For space purposes on the original layout, the portal row is only accessible through a script that opens a new window. I want the user to be able to see the newest record in a field on the original layout.

 

Edit: The related records are date and time stamped, which is used to sort them.

In the portal, there is an option to sort on a second field.

 

Go to layout mode and double click on the portal. the edit box will appear.

You can place the related field directly onto the layout (without portal) and the latest ( last-created ) record's value will display if you have sorted the relationship on the portal side descending order on creation timestamp.
