The short answers are:

1) Using a script or calculation

2) The multi-key is a text field

3) 0830 to 2030 by 15 minutes gives 48 intervals

4) You will just relate the multikey to the multikey in the same file to check for overlap.

The exact script or calculation will probably take about an hour to work out for the script and longer for the calculation, kind of beyond the scope of this form. You might want to hire some help with this as it is definitely an advanced problem. The basics of the script are to take the start time and build a multikey entry, increment by 15 minutes, compare to the end time, if you aren't there yet, loop and build another entry until the interval is covered. I think this can also be done as a calculations (I don't know exactly how, but probably the mother of all case statements.) I'll ask Ocean West, he just got through doing one of these, but probably used a script.
