I am trying to copy a few layout fields from a tabbed layout I have to another blank layout, but instead of fm only copying the selected form fields, it copies the whole tabbed interface, every single tab, including the current one, and including items not selected. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Try with Shift+Click on a layout element, then a click on anotther element you want to copy, the same for the others, and then Copy. Check it well.

    Thanks for that, nope though, it still carries over everything for some reason. Anyway, I 'll just take everything to the side on the layout I pasted into, then choose what I want and drag it over, and I then delete it. 

    by chance are you copying from a earlier version of FileMaker, such as FileMaker 11 ?

    no, just filemaker 12 within the same file, from one layout to another. 

    Why not attach a copy of your file so we can see your structure?

    No, I am on 12.01 right now.  I will update soon and get back to you guys with the behaviour I get in .04
