I had to implement my own, and I was wondering since in the form views you only get one record, how do you navigate it then, since the starter solutions have been created with the provision to run them without the status bar, and I refer to the desktop ones, not the iPad or iPhone ones. 

The startup script in the Contacts starter solution only hides the toolbar if it's iOS. But, go ahead and build Next/Prev buttons, why not?

In form view you only SEE one record at a time, but the found set can be whatever it is. All the more reason for "first/previous/next/last" navigation buttons. I use my home grown ones all the time. Especially in form view.
