Agentshevy Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) I have managed to create a small database for a few number of students to manage their class grades, now i want to add a logo (definitely Group logo image) that should appear on every layout. Please how do i go about this? Edited August 31, 2014 by Lee Smith Change title case.
eos Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Let me note two things: 1. In cyberspace, using all uppercase is considered shouting. Please don't. 2. Your profile states you're a FileMaker developer certified for v13. Is that correct? (I daresay not, but who knows … ) To your question: assuming that this is a single-user. non-hosted database, you could create a field of type container with global storage and put in your logo. Place this field on your layout(s); since it has global storage, it's content is accessible (and visible) within the entire file and does not need to be related to a layout's table (occurrence). It doesn't matter in which table you create the field, but it may be a good idea to have a dedicated UI/Control/'OtherPurposes' table for such globally used fields that serve … well, other purposes. 1
Agentshevy Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Thanks Eos, for point the cyberspace code out for me... i was actually surprised when i received admin warning but i didn't actually understood what he meant by shouting... secondly, while signing up for this forum, there wasn't any provision for NOVICE, since the file i have is pro 13, and on windows platform, i went for those options... really sorry if I have violated any rules here... was not intentional, just wanna learn
Rick Whitelaw Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 You should remove any incorrect entries on your profile. Beginners or novices are welcome here and actually encouraged to post questions regardless of how basic they may be, However, if you post a novice question and your profile says you're certified for FMP 13 you might not get as many responses.
eos Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 if you post a novice question and your profile says you're certified for FMP 13 I guess that's the flip-side of people styling themselves 'Expert' and giving a novice's answers.
Lee Smith Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Errors during sign up are common. Here is a quick link to make the changes MY PROFILE
