Newbies juventino10 Posted October 18, 2001 Newbies Posted October 18, 2001 Any ideas on how to take information from filemaker and import it into mind your own business. Is it possible at all?
SteveB Posted October 18, 2001 Posted October 18, 2001 You need to find out what MYOB supports for importing data, before asking what Filemaker can do in terms of exporting.
Garry Claridge Posted October 31, 2001 Posted October 31, 2001 MYOB talks ODBC, hence FMP will be able to exchange data. This can even be scripted. Check the ODBC forum. All the best. Garry
bruceR Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 MYOB talks ODBC, hence FMP will be able to exchange data. This can even be scripted. Only on Windows. Even with their latest release - no change.
Oldfogey Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Depends what you want to import into MYOB. One of my customers uses a (brilliantly written) FMP invoicing program to create .TAB files for import into MYOB. The MYOB import/export requirements are well-documented. Last I heard, ODBC in MYOB caused humungous problems.
Garry Claridge Posted December 16, 2003 Posted December 16, 2003 I have automated the process as a total Mac solution. FM exports text files and, with an "embedded" Applescript in FM, MYOB imports these. The Win version of this is slightly different where you use the "autoimport.exe" program instead of Applescript. This can be run from FM. Good Luck. Garry
Oldfogey Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Gary, Pardn my ignorance but what's "autoimport.exe"?
Garry Claridge Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 "autoimport.exe" is an MYOB Microsoft Windows Command-Line program which imports file data into MYOB. It uses ODBC. It comes with the MYOB Developer CD and from the Developer site. All the best. Garry
Leb i Sol Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 ...and if ur not a MYOB developer then there is even a better solution (win only) called Autoit(.com) that will allow you create an "Export.exe" accoding to your specification that can also be embeded into FM or (in case of networked solution) placed on the server side. Autoit is also free...no really it's free HTH take it easy!
