Can I disable the popover animation when opening via a popover button?

Featured Replies

I know that I can control whether or not a popover instantly appears or "pops" up by using the script step "set script animation" on or off. This works great when the popover is being triggered by a script but is it possible to turn off the animation when it's being opened by a popover button?

(bump)  I have this exact same question!!

There is this approach, although it's overly complicated.  Basically, you set up the button to trigger a script, which opens up the popover.  A little too complicated me thinks.

I was trying to avoid doing something stupid like putting two buttons on top of each other simply to stop the animation effect. Then I discovered the missing popover button feature "change to hand cursor over button" (which FileMaker has acknowledged as a programming oversight) and that was enough for me to commit to using two buttons everywhere I used a popover. Ugh!

I'm just going to live with it for the timebeing . . . FMP14 anyone?  :hmm:
