Newbies dynedwebmaster Posted July 16, 2001 Newbies Posted July 16, 2001 I am looking into SSL servers and I noticed in FileMaker Unlimited they say: Included in FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited are FileMaker Pro 5 and the FileMaker Web Server Connector to integrate FileMaker Pro with robust Web Servers to provide increased performance, security and SSL (secure socket layer) support to your web solutions. I can't find any mention in the help of SSL. Can anyone tell me where I can find info on FileMaker SSL and what the "Web Server Connector" is?
webdudes Posted July 16, 2001 Posted July 16, 2001 My understanding is thet unlimited will not supprot ssl until version 5.5 later this year. Jerry WebDudes Colocation Filemaker Hosting 916 624 0601
arealink Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 FM Unlimited comes with the web server connector cd. Using the web server connector, you can do SSL connections via FMPro hosted pages. Nothing else needed other than your certificate installed on a webserver.
Anatoli Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 Let me add to the above: 1. You will use SSL server e.g. IIS, Netscape or Apache. 2. On server you will install WebConnector from FileMaker Unlimited. 3. WebConnector will pull data from FM Unlimited running on another machine.
