Tondats
Hello there Filemaker experts, just wanna need your help guys. I'm newbie to filemaker so please have patience on me. I have a program here that the user needs to log-in first before he/she can access the main layout. I already created a table for Login that contains Username and Password fields. I know this is just a piece of cake for you guys but I really need your help. Can someone help me about the login script? Thanks guys.
Lee Smith
Hi Tondats, and welcome to the FM Forums, We need some additional information from you. Please update your profile to reflect what version of FileMaker Version, Platform and Operating System you are using. How are the files being access, i.e. FileMaker Server, Peer to Peer, single user? Are you the Author of the files? i.e. do you have Admin Access? Lee
OlgerDiekstra
Filemaker has its own internal authentication mechanisme (file->manage->security) where you can add users and set their passwords. You can also specify what rights they have in various areas of your DB. You might have to turn off automatic login through file->file options if filemaker doesn't ask for a username/password when you open the DB. Steven H. Blackwell
Please do not store passwords in data fields. They are vulnerable to compromise. Use the tools FIleMaker already gives you in the Manage Security section of the file. Steven
