FM 12. When I create new fields the text name is always right aliged. Is there a way I can have it default to left align?

Easiest is to make the field the way you want it. Duplicate field, double click and change the reference, or use a custom theme

A clipboard manager may or may not be the right tool for you; I only know of http://www.myfmbutler.com/en/products/clip-manager-for-mac/6 for the mac, there may or may not be equivalent tools for Windows.
