H Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 hi i created a portal for where i want to be able to add in several items for it to total to create a report. however it only allows me to add one row. how can i fix this ?
ron G Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Make sure your portal fields are 'completely with' the top portal row. Even a 1 pixel intrusion will cause this event.
H Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 checked that still no change, any other reason why that could happen
webko Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 In Layout mode, click on the portal, and nudge it a pixel - do the fields move as well?
webko Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 And what does the Add Item script do? Have you allowed creation of records via this relationship in the Database Relationship diagram?
webko Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 1 minute ago, H said: is that meant to happen? It proves that the fields are attached to the portal - sometimes they aren't, even when they look like they are, but in this case that seems OK
H Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 i think that was it, i only allowed creation of record on one side , however now i fell into a different issue, only on one field it lets me enter not on all, why could that be
Lee Smith Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 It’s a setting in your relationship in order to create new records. You get one row per related record, it can be as wide as you want it, but only one row high. One of you in your team should read about portals, relationship, creating related records. Lee
