  1. I am working on installing FileMaker Server Advanced 7v3 on a Windows 2003 server with IIS 6.0 installed. I have successfully installed the software for FileMaker Server Advanced but when I go to the web to configure the settings and then restart the service I get the error of "An Expected Error has occurred." I have tried stopping the Web Publishing engine and the IIS server without success. I am guessing it is an interaction with the IIS server but I am not sure. Can anyone help?
  2. I am experiencing this problem on a server and was wondering how your of October 4 will causehelp this problem.
  3. I figured it out on my own. The registry key is as follows: [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareFileMakerFileMaker Pro7.0FavHostInfoSummary] "LastViewType"=dword:00000000 The presence of this registry key will default to Favorite Hosts when opening a remote file. Thanks
  4. I would like Favorite Host to be set as default when opening a Remote File. Is it possible to change this via the registry or within the application?
  5. A FileMaker 6.0 database is running on a workstation with IWP turned on. The database is located on a NT server and being hosted on the FMServer 5. I am experiencing on a weekly basis that the database crashes. I am seeing two errors in the error.log. They are 401 and 100. I am seeing when the error occurs that the database is being connected to by the web/ip address and then they receive an error indicates "Filename could not be found and is required to complete this operation". If you go to the server the file has closed and needs to be reopened. The permissions for the user accessing the database is set to allow a constant connection and the permissions allow them to run the web. I am looking for suggestions on what could be causing the problem.
  6. I have an FMPro database that is being served from FMServer. I am also using IWP from a workstation to publish the database. The problem is that if I go to view the database over the web the views are not showing the table view I select. I enter a value to search in the search form. I click on Start Search. The search returns the values in the Search view as a table and not in the Table view. Is there a way to change this behavior?
  7. I made the change as you suggested but the problem was not resolved. I am continuing to experience the database closing. Any other suggestions?
  8. I have a problem that appears to be related to the FileMaker Server. I have a image database that is hosted on the Server. Users are accessing the file via Web Companion being hosted from a WinXP machine. About every 2 to 3 users is receiving an error that indicates "database not open". The Web Security database is being used for user management. I have made the changes to the database so the password for the web account has privileges to export the records. The database was moved from a FileMaker 5.5 on a Mac with the web companion enabled. Everything ran on the same machine with no server. I have moved the database to FileMaker 6.04 with FileMaker Server 5.5 as the host. The server is running on Windows 2000 and users are accessing the system from WinXP, Win2K, and WinNT. I removed the database from the server and hosted it from a WinXp workstation. The problem goes away. Any suggestions what additional troubleshooting I can do?
  9. The file is now working. I have not worked on this for almost a month. Something must have changed in the environment. Thanks :(
  10. The file does have a fp5 extension and it is set to multi-user mode. I forgot to add that the file is set up to use a web security database. Do I need to do anything special to have the file recognize the web security database is open?
  11. I am attempting to host a file on a Windows 2000 FileMaker Server. The file was previously available on a Mac OS9 computer. When I attempt to host the file I am getting the error "Error occurred; unable to open file." There was a start up script that was calling another database that was not present. I disabled that script but it is still not working. Any idea on how I can resolve this problem. I forgot to mention that the file is working if I access it directly with FileMaker and do not host it on a FileMaker Server.
  12. Will this work if I run the script on the Mac and then move the database to the PC?
  13. I have inherited the support of a FileMaker database. I need to move the database from a MAC to a PC. In the process of moving the database I have identified that pictures in the database are being inserted with "Store only a reference to the file" checked in a container field. Is there are way to view the actual reference to the file and can I replace the reference in a batch update to point at the new location?
