  1. I disabled IPW and there was no difference in load time. I turned it back on because my techs often use to access my databases from machines without the FM client. Brad
  2. What is IWP?
  3. Gary, the page loads almost instantly on the machine that is hosting it. Does that mean anything? Thanks, Brad
  4. I made the change in the java script but that didn't make much difference in speed. Is there anything else you can suggest? Thanks, Brad
  5. I'm not sure what you are saying. What is happening?
  6. That was it. Thank you so much. One last question. When I select High School the room list moves. What is causing that? Thanks, Brad
  7. That was it! Thanks so much. One last question. When I select High School the room list moved to below the building list. What is causing that? Thanks again, Brad
  8. Wow, thank you so very much. I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. Thanks! Brad
  9. I created a database for tracking PC inventory and trouble tickets last summer. It took a fair amount of help from users here to get the web portion going and now I've been away from it that I'm not even sure where to start looking on this issue. at http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net/FMPro?-db=Helpdesk.fp5&-format=helpdesk.html&-lay=Technicians%20View&-view (password is support) I've got a form that brings up a room list based on the building selected. That list should come from a filemaker database called room. I've attached all of the related files. If someone could help me get this resolved I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Brad filemaker.zip
  10. I've got multiple files involved. One for PC, one for monitors, 1 for rooms. Where would I create the relationship and count fields? Thanks, Brad
  11. I'm running FM6 for a computer inventory database. I want to be able to somehow create reports that can tell me how many PCs are in building X, how many have a X CPU, or X RAM. I assume this can be done but don't know where to begin doing it. Can someone point me in the correct direction? Thanks, Brad
  12. Yes they are lookup fields. I can live with that functionality. We were just making changes for the first time and weren't doing it properly. I'm not sure how to do this.... in my PC database I've got Room related to Room in the Room database. The relationship looks like Room=::Room and the related file is Room.fp5. I appologize for my lack of understanding how to change this. Thanks, Brad
  13. Any help would be appreciated. Brad
  14. I'm using FM6 for an inventory database. I've got it broken down into a few separate databases. Rooms: Building Room RoomID PC: Building Room RoomID Serial# etc Monitor: Building Room RoomID Serial# etc I've got everything related by RoomID and have a lookup created to pull the RoomID when a building and Room are entered. If I enter a new piece of equipment in the Room database, everything is ok but the Building and Room fileds are not populated in the PC or Monitor database. If I enter the equipment in it's respective database the room ID is not correct because in the look up it finds the same room number but for a different building. How can I fix this? I'll attach the databases. It took a lot of help getting this setup so be gentle with me. Thanks, Brad FileMaker.zip
  15. It takes a few seconds to load the database but then all queries and updates are very fast. Brad
  16. It also seems to load fine if I load http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net/helpdesk.html but then the drop downs don't work. Help! Brad
  17. I get the same response no matter where the database is stored. How do I check the patch levels? Thanks, Brad [color:"red"] Update: I'm running FileMaker Pro 6.0v4 Windows (English)
  18. I've turned off instant web publishing and it still loads very slowly. http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net/FMP...0View&-view It's running on a WinXP PC with a 1.2Ghz CPU and 256MB of ram. This box is doing nothing but hosting an FM database and is only being access via the web. Any ideas? Thanks, Brad
  19. Yup, I forgot to give access to that file. How would you suggest I allow my technicians to access the full databases (I'm using Instant web publishing) and have users access an easy to use form (Custom Web Publishing)? Thanks, Brad
  20. For some reason if you just point a browser to my FM6 server it loads quickly. http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net but if I point it to a CDML page it loads very slowly. http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net/FMP...0View&-view What might I have wrong? The password to display the database is "support" Thanks, Brad
  21. I got hel pin my original post http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=117041&an=0&page=0#117041 Thanks.

  23. Wow! That is way over my head. I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks! Brad
  24. I'm trying to create cascading drop down menu that work in CDML. I've got them working in FM but can't get the second one to update on the web. I posted in Using FileMaker Online (http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=117041&an=0&page=0#117041) and they pointed me here. It sounds like I need to do this with Java. Can anyone help me get there? Here is the page. I want a room list to come up after a building is selected. http://helpdesk.chesaningschools.net/helpdesk.html I'll also attach the database. Thanks, Brad fm.zip
  25. I can't even figure out where to begin to do this. Can you help me out? Thanks, Brad
