Simple Customization of Tasks Starter Solution

We need a developer to quickly and efficiently change the structure of the Tasks starter solution so that a user logs in and chooses the Organization, Site, and Department that the project applies. As a follow-up, we will need some changes to the fields and how they display in the layouts. I'm assuming that it's fair game to start with FileMaker's starter solution. 

We use FMPro Server 16 and clients on a Windows platform. Paid via PayPal upon task completion. We are in Canada so Canadian developers paid via interactive money transfer.

Most developers probably wouldn't be interested in modifying a starter solution.  Starter Solutions are basically created to show users the kinds of things FileMaker could do, not necessarily the best way to do them.

Plus if you're deploying this on server, there are many security issues to consider.

Might take just as much time to figure out and modify a starter solution than just building a custom or semi-custom db.

Also, it's really a lot to ask a developer to work for you and only get paid upon "task completion." Custom software is rarely "complete."

I agree with @Steve Martino about the starter solutions. In our 18 years pratice we only modified starter solution once, in very other case we found developing a new one from scratch better and more efficient.

Starter solutions are great for learning though. If you want to learn from the changes, that's completely different story.

In line with @bcooney even we do not accept jobs to be paid fully after delivery. For small jobs under 5 mandays we simply let you pre-pay specific amount of time and then we do what you want us to do within that time. For larger jobs we prepare a quotation and ask for at least 50 % in advance and 50 % after delivery.

It's up to you whether you prefer the "safe" approach for which you will hardly find experienced developer for, or if you want to hire someone with a lot of experience and a good reputation.
