Kireihana Posted October 4, 2001 Posted October 4, 2001 Hi, I am still trying to find the best solution to publish filemaker databases on the web. I was already inclined to go with the Lasso-Filemaker solution until Macromedia and Filemaker announces its Ultradev integration with the Filemaker product by upgrading its JDBC driver. So now I am thinking about creating JSP pages and using the JDBC driver to publish Filemaker DBs on the web. But there doesn't seem to be enough documentation and resources on the Filemaker JSP route. Like for example, how would JSP handle relational Filemaker databases?
Anatoli Posted October 4, 2001 Posted October 4, 2001 Fastest and most reliable is CDML and WebCompanion. I think the Java is talking to WebCompanion so it will be just more complicated and slower.
Krishan Posted October 4, 2001 Posted October 4, 2001 Hi... I'm using lasso to publish my FMP databases. I would start with Web Companion and CDML first because it's probably easier and thus faster to learn. If you later find limitations with using Web Companion and CDML then try Lasso and LDML, which is very similar to CDML. .....But if you intend to use SSL in the future then maybe you should consider Lasso straight away.
