spam33 Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 Ok, What I have is a contacts database with info about customers. One particular field that this db stores is sex (male/female/other). I have created a report that will sort and list all my contacts and group them by their sex. But, I want to add a page break between each group (for example, males on one page, females on a 2nd, and so on). How can I set up my report so it will insert this page break? Thanks for the help. Cameron...
LaRetta Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 Hi Cameron, Oh, I just can't help myself!!! Male, Female & Other? Well, we DO live in a new world, I guess!! I suppose I'll have to modify my Value Lists before long also! To answer your question, yes you can split Gender on a report. Just create a Sub-Summary (Layout > Part Setup), select your Gender field, and choose Page Break after every one occurance, Trailing. Then place your Gender field on this newly created sub-summary. Be sure to sort your report on Gender or sub-summaries don't work right. The report will automatically list first female, male then other LaRetta
spam33 Posted January 28, 2003 Author Posted January 28, 2003 That did the trick, thanks so much. Yeah, I know the "other" heading is kind of funny, I guess it should be something like "Don't want to reveal". Oh well, thanks again.
Lee Smith Posted January 28, 2003 Posted January 28, 2003 Hi Cameron, And I was just getting ready to ask if you had many of them "Others"
BobWeaver Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Interesting! My value list for Sex only contains two items: Yes please, and No thank you
