Hi everybody,

I have some problems about my databases on server. They sometime closed but i dont know the reason and some times closed because server machine has been reseted. So my databases do not work in that stuation. I can not use startup items method because problem is i can not reach filemaker if the databases open via startup items folder.

So i tried to use -DbOpen CDML tag but i did not work.

What do am i do now??

Please help me.

Best Regards

Hello Adam, I'm surprised one of the experts has not responded.

"So i tried to use -DbOpen CDML tag but i did not work."

Of course it did not work. In order for CDML to work the browser client must first be able to establish contact with a db which is open and running over Web Companion.

Someone may have reset the server (do you mean closed all applications and re-booted the server?). That means that unless the db's for your website are physically reopened on the re-boot, the website will remain inaccessible.

Here is the explanation from the "CDML Reference" database:

- The -DBOpen and -DBClose actions tags only use the -db variable tag for the name of the database and the partial path before FMPro? in the URL to determine on which database to apply the action.

- The opening action has the additional parameter -password specifying what password to open the db with.

- The database administrator must have remote administration privileges .

- The database must be in the Web folder to be opened remotely.

- A format file is required to be specified in the URL in order for -DBOpen to be processed.

Filemaker Pro must also be running.

Good Luck.
