the setup: 35 eMacs on a LAN (with server)

all use OS9.2 and Appleworks

1 has FileMaker Pro 6.0

the problem: The computer with FM has a database that needs to share

1 layout with READ ONLY access and the school can't

afford any software.

the solution: ??

if I post the layout to the server using IWP, is the VIEWING

limited to 10 IP addresses in a 12 hour period?

I seem to be reading conflicting posts here.

If there is an easier way to do this (sharing the layout), I would

appreciate a kick in the right direction. I know rudimentary HTML and am not afraid to try anything!

"if I post the layout to the server "-- server? or FM Pro?

-FM Pro 6 is limited to 10 IP addresses in a 12 hour period. If these 10 users are on your LAN and using DHCP I would suggest to then set the DHCP timeout/scope to 12hrs (if u have not done so) and/or just set those user machines to static IPs.

-FM Ulimited is....as its name

-FM Server....per clients/licences purchased

If you plan to host files on FM Pro 6 be carefull...when a host station is using/modifying the layout ( in design view) others can not use it over the web

good luck

thanks for the help!

I'm thinking of exporting the data to Appleworks (rtf document), setting file sharing on the Appleworks file, and putting a link to the file on the other 34 desktops. It's kinda like going around the barn to get in the front door, but the 34 only have to look at the data once every am.
