Is it possible to get FM Server 5.5 to output a log file for when it runs a backup? Also, on FMSErver 3 it produced a log of all users that logged in and what databases they opened. Is this same logging feature available with the newest version? I haven't been able to find them as of yet.

Thanks! I didn't realize that it was logging it to the windows log. That is really nice how they did that. Thanks for the help once again!

Okay, I know I'm a couple years late, but I've just upgraded to Server 5.5 and can't find the log. You said it's in the "Windows Log" - what's that? and where can I find it?

Thanks

It's in the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools in the Control Panel.

You can filter the entries to just show FileMaker events. It will be under the Applications tab.

Oh that... Okay, I found it, thanks. Just expected to find something that looked more like the old log (with a single mouse-click I could see at a glance everything that had happened in the most recent session, which files were open, errors, etc all in one window - using Event Viewer I have to click each event individually till I find the one I want)

*Sigh* Oh well, all things being equal, FMServer 5.5 seems to be an improvment over its predecessor - its just hard to teach an old dog (me) new tricks.

Thanks,

~kyle
