Hello,

We have a hp office jet printer that when printing records from a Filemaker database is very slow. All other apps print just fine, in fact Word docs print blazingly fast. This only occurs when printing a specific form in filemaker. There are 42 fields on this form and really nothing special that would would make it soooo slow. I have tried Increasing the printer memory but that did not help. Any Ideas?

Thanks, Michael

Maybe the fonts used in FM, very old or very new printer driver and maybe another hundreds reasons.

There are no scripts involved or summary fields. A few calculations, but nothing that needs any time to calculate. Then printer will print 1 line and sit for a few seconds and then print the next line, for up to 3 min a page. It's strange. The font on the layout is Times new roman, maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know. Ideas??

Yes I did! Good memory. I will try changing the fonts to see if that is the issue. Question: Isn't Times new roman a universal font? Meaning it "Should" work on any printer.

Sorry, I composed it offline then pasted my response to the wrong printing problem post. I re-pasted it to the correct post. crazy.gif

Does the FM form (layout) have an eps or postscript graphic on it? Like a company logo or something?

The company logo was drawn with Filemaker. Everything was done with Filemaker. There are no relationships within this database.
