Scripts, buttons in IWP 4.1

I have a database that contains PDF files. I can double-click on the PDF icon and the file opens. I would like to replicate this behavior online - that is, be able to click on an icon or a button from a browser and see the PDF file.

I have created an Open URL script, but I can't run online. I can't see any buttons that I created.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hi:

Perhaps if the pdfs were in a public folder, say on the server and you would have to point to that pdf's directory.

Although I haven't tried it. But I would figure that IWP supports the Open URL command, so if the document is publicly available, you should be able to link to it.

Yes, I understand that. The thing is, I can't even get a button show up on the web form once I log into it via Web Companion. Once I figure out how to do that, I'll move the PDF's into a public directory.

The question is, how do I enable said buttons? I'm probably missing something very obvious.

Thanks again

Hi:

What is the button? Is it a FM object, like a rectangle or FM button?

IWP renders layouts and everything on them, so make sure you have the correct layout for the form you specify. Once you have the button, you have to make sure the top most layer object is the one that is specified as the button.
