As I go thru the db's I notice that some of them don't have the LAYOUT stuff on the left and I can't figure out how to get it. Like one DB I know has 5 layouts associated with it but I can't select any except the first one because that whole area is missing and nothing seems to work to bring it back.

What am I missing?

The layouts you cannot access from the layout menu are those which have been set to not be 'included in layouts menu' in 'Layouts->Layout Setup', accessible from Layout Mode. They can also be checked off, if the files are single-user, from 'Layouts->Set Layout Order'.

There is a menu option to hide or show the status area. They changed the menus around after version 5 came out, so I'm not sure where it is on your version.

It's possible that it may have been locked in the hidden state by a startup script. If so, you will have to create and run a short script to unlock it:

Toggle Status Area [show]

I found the problem. There is a script that is run as soon as the db is open that hides the status area.

So I did what you said, BobWeaver, I changed the script to SHOW and now I have acces to it.

I'm getting worried. I'm starting to understand this FM stuff. shocked.gif
