November 27, 200322 yr Hi there, the picture is a part of interface design created by Ugo. I just use it as sample. Now want to ask what tools are you all using to create this kind of icon, i'm using pc, so if possible please recommend the tools that suiltable for pc. This all button look loke having transparent background and look sharp even on notebook LCD display with 800x600 resolution. Now i having problem with creating the icon that can have transparent background and also made it look sharp on notebook LCD. Regards, Henry
December 9, 200322 yr These icons were probably created with an illustration program such as Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand. They were then imported into Photoshop and saved in a GIF format with transparency turn on. (The transparency feature knocks out the background.) All of these programs are available for PC. They are also a bit costly, you may consider renting a machine with these programs from a place like Kinko's. Although I don't know if there are any Kinko's in Malaysia. Hope this helps.
December 12, 200322 yr Guys, These aren't mines They are from Georges. They're surely created using Photoshop though. Thanks anyway for the good words... For the Information, all my graphics are made using either Photoshop and AppleWorks. I favour the later for buttons and mini badges, as it is less resources involved, but would use Photoshop to draw those like Georges'.
December 12, 200322 yr Oh Henry, Have me some rooms at the Datai in Langkawi for XMas and I'd draw what you wish.... Lovely place I'd always have in mind for the rest of my life...
December 17, 200322 yr Author Hi Ugo, Thank you for giving me the answer, I think i will work harder on Photoshop because i'm using PC. Langkawi is really a nice place. I also like this place. There still are a lot of nice place here. I'm from Penang state, but if you all plan to having holiday in Malaysia, i will try my best to helping you. Regards, Henry
December 17, 200322 yr My 2 cents, I work on a pc and have great results with photoshop and FM. In fact, the "lite" version of photoshop, Photosho Elements, is probably more than sufficient for anyone who isn't a full time graphic artist, and goes for about 1/10th the cost of the full version. Dan
