With the delay of FM7 Server release (very bad strategy if you ask me), I wanted to begin rocking and rolling with FMPro 7 and just use up to 10 users in the guest/host model until Server comes out.

However - I read that the client version, FMPro7 only supports 5 users! What the #*%@+ ! I need more than that to get off the ground, I was planning on the 10 that FM6 supports.

I am hoping that the 5 users deal is just a conserative cover your ass statement and that it may actually support more users, just with the typical performance hits.

Can anyone confirm if Pro will support more than 5 users?

You are likely to need all the time between now and the summer to get up to speed on all the changes that FMP 7 entails. When FileMaker Server 7 and FileMaker Server 7 Advanced are released there will be an entirely new client server typology to learn.

Please see http://www.filemaker.com/upgrade/techbriefs.html

And, yes, so far as I know and have seen, it's 5 users.

Bummer- thats just ruined my network solution

This is more than annoying that will have to purchase and lean how to use server in a tiny network.

I'd still like to see someone go ahead and try more than 5 users to see if it works. I'm not sure why, but my gut tells me it just might.

Actually the ability not to use more then 5 users caused us to stay with FMP6 for a new project rather then using 7 from the start, all we needed was to support 10.
