simoncpage Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I have a drop down contain groups Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 What is the easiest way, without doing 2 searches, to find all the records relating to Group 1 and Group 2 (or any number of groups available in the list) Thanks
QuinTech Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Hi Simon, You could do a New Find Request from within the same search. Enter Group1 in the first request, Group2 in the second. HTH. Jerry
simoncpage Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 Consider this for 10 groups....rather cumbersome
LaRetta Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Hi Simon, I would drop the find and use Go To Related instead. Create a self-join from global to this value list field. Place global field as a checkbox. Check the items you wish and click a button with Go To Related [show]. It will match to each item checked because they produce a multiline, meaning each line will relate as a different key.
Ugo DI LUCA Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Hi, Why not use a Menu list, shift click for multiple selections, and build a relationship from this list to the main records... So that you have a global with your list, a list of groups separated by carriage returns (which allow for many relationships)
Ugo DI LUCA Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Ciao LaRetta, same ideas, different methods, and better explanation....
