Zero Tolerence Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 Ok, I have a question for you guys. Recently I started learning fx.php with the intent to use this to connect our FM databases to a web pages without the limitations of IWP. Everything I am finding is telling me to turn on Web Companion, but I cannot find this for Filemaker Pro 7 or for Filemaker Server 7 advanced. Can someone point me in the right direction as to what I need to do to get my php scripts working and communicating with my DB. Thanks in advance.
Garry Claridge Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 I think that you will need to get a version of FX which is specifically for FM7 Advanced Server. All the best. Garry
kfutter Posted September 29, 2004 Posted September 29, 2004 My understanding is that even though the latest version of FX.php (v3) is able to communicate with FM7SA, the documentation is not completely up to date in that regard, and talks mainly about connecting to FMUv5/6 via the Web Companion. I've had no experience with FM7SA, but I have seen code in the FX.php file that refers to it. A good place to ask would be the FX mailing list, which you can join from the FX website. Cheers, Kevin Futter
fmplugin Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 This book FX.php In 8 Hours covers setting up FX.php with FileMaker 7 and configuring FileMaker Server 7 Advanced. Book is at: http://www.fmwebschool.com/php8.htm
Zero Tolerence Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 I have set everything up exactly as this book says, and am still having no luck, which is why I posted here.
Garry Claridge Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 What sort of problems are you having? Garry
