FM7 v3 - Graphics in container fields now buggy...

Has anyone noticed this as well?

I have a calc container field that displays a variety of color highlights depending on the value of another field. I've set the graphics format for the container field to "enlarge" and deselect "maintain original proportions" and set the borders to "none."

In v2 and earlier, the container field would fully display the color highlight (from edge to edge), but now with v3, the highlight stops short "one line" width from the edges. This is problematic because my layouts needs these containers to be precise.

Was this intentional, or another bug to be fixed (or reverted to the prior version) in the next release?

Any thoughts?

My guess is the one pixel is the "transparent" border. Make sure the border is really transparent and not set to white.

I'm not seeing behavior different from previous versions in FM 7.3 Mac.

Yes, the border and fill are both transparent and the borders are all deselected. I did a fresh install and updated to v2 and the container field is okay again. Hmmm....

Wouldn't surprise me if that has something to do with the fix they put in v3 for the buttons having graphic oddities in the previous versions...

I spoke with Filemaker Support and apparently they have had numerous reports of this glitch and they are currently working to fix it. They don't have a timeframe for the fix though.

It appears that we are playing ping-pong. I have found that the weird scaling issues with 7.01 or 7.02 have been addressed and now my container scale as they did in 5/6.

Most of my FMP7 has been on the Windows side and I understand these issues were not consistant on the Mac side. I'm encouraged that FMI has released more code in the past 12 months then it did in the previous 5 years. My guess is that we will see a 7.04 release announced at MacWorld in January...

Later,

Joe
