I'm fairly familiar with FM development, but other than creating an IWP page, I haven't done anything on the Web with FM. We have FM7v3 advanced, and I'd like to switch over to having more control than IWP allows. At a high level I sort of understand XML, but I'm hoping someone can give me a better understanding of the XML/XSLT capabilities. With XML/XSLT and nothing else, can I do direct "Insert/Update/Delete" type functions in FM? Do I need some sort of a middleware engine? We have some Java background, but nothing significant with Perl/PHP. If we have to have some sort of middleware engine is there any info on using Java as the engine?

Most importantly, can someone provide simple examples, such as a simple XML/XSLT "Insert/Update/Delete" demo into a simple FM7 DB? Most of the stuff provided by FM seems more focused on Import/Export, and I'm more interested in how to directly interface into the database.

Any insight is appreciated....

Check in the XML/XSL forum, plenty is happening there.

All the best.
