Hi all,

I was wondering if there is something like a contain find?

When I want to find a string of text that is contain in a field,

let say I want to find a name that contain john it wont't be = "john"

Thanks all

Have you tried using the * in your find? In other words, *john*

Well,

I want to created an automated seach, I've created a global field (I use that as a variable since I dont know how to make one : and a buton that start a script. A Parfome Find and in the calculated result I put :

Contact Management::First Name = Contact Management::namesearch

where namesearch is my global where people enter theyr specification in a field.

I wish that people could enther john and anyone who has john in theyr firstname could be selected...

I am abit confuse I guess,, I use to program panorama... Quite different

Thanks

You can set up a relationship using the First Name field on the Right Side (hope this didn't change in v7) and the Global in the Left Side. Be sure the Global is Text.

Or, you could use the Clairvoyance or Type-ahead approach. Do a search for Clairvoyance and you should find plenty of reading material on this.

Hum,

I meant I was using Panorama before. Is there such a thing as claivoyance in FM ?

Thanks for your quick reply..

Now why do you suppose I suggested that you search for clairvoyance? Be sure to "Search" for the correct spelling of the word though.
