Steve Wright Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 When a database on my filemaker unlimited server either quits unexpectedly or stops publishing on the web (this is an identified problem with the web companion)and i try to access a CDML web page i get a javascript application error window come up saying that the database is not open. What I want it to do is move to a static error page designed by me. I have specified it as a URL: <A HREF="http://172.17.201.8/mpc/wg/FMPro?-db=wg_shot_tracker&-lay=cgi&-format=shot_tracker.htm&-Error=default.htm&-view"> I have put error pages in all the folders jsut in case i have got the path to the error page wrong. To no avail. Any help would be appreciated. p.s. (the URL will not work for you because it is within our company intranet)
Garry Claridge Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Try this: <A HREF="http://172.17.201.8/FMPro?-db=wg_shot_tracker&-lay=cgi&-format=mpc/wg/shot_tracker.htm&-Error=mpc/wg/default.htm&-view"> See if having the error page in the "wg" directory makes any difference. Good Luck. Garry
Steve T. Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Howdy, Steve! Hmmm... I know you're doing this in a link, but in a standard form, I find it depends on how you declare your FORM ACTION as to where your error page should be. If I use <FORM ACTION='http://x.x.x.x/mydirectory/FMPro'> then my -error would be just be error.html (assuming it is inside /mydirectory/). If I use <FORM ACTION='FMPro'> then my -error would have to be /mydirectory/error.html. In your case, I'd try garry's switcheroo but it looks pretty much like the same thing to me. What happens when the db is open... does it find the correct -format page? The path for -format and -error should be the same. Maybe try a different error (text in a number field or something) and see if it gets there. --ST
