KaosMaker Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I can't seem to find a copy of Developer's edition 4.0 anywhere. I heard it was a somewhat limited distribution, does anyone know where I could buy a copy? Thanks!
Lee Smith Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 It comes up on Ebay from time to time. Be careful of pirated software though, you should really check out the ability of being able to register it in your name, and stay away form any thing that sounds the least bit hinky, because it probably is. KaosMaker Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 I kindof wish I could just get the software from ebay or whatever, and buy a license from FM legally. I heard they still offer FMP6 licenses, just not the software. Of course, I understand they don't want to really encourage use of their old software, but it would be very convenient for me. If we wanted to upgrade to 7, we could probably afford it...if we didn't have to get 12 new computers that could run OSx (we currently have quadras). Eventually we will upgrade, but currently we can only upgrade 1 computer every 4 or 5 months. We've upgraded 3 so far. So we'll be using FM4 for quite some time, and I would LOVE to use kiosk mode in the Dev. Ed. Ah well, thanks!

So it's not the 3.0 SDK that allowed networked solutions to be bound then, but only the ability to bind the solution, in a form that supports older 68k macs. The easiest way is to find a developer who still have access to his old binder ...and ask him kindly, if he could bind your stuff ...it's not a lot to ask for - would take approximately 3 minutes from the time it arrives with e-mail 'till a bound solution is returned. --sd
