January 27, 200619 yr Is there a way to remove the Splash screen or change it to sometime else at the end of a runtime solution? NotPro (Now upgraded to FM 8 Pro Advanced)
January 27, 200619 yr Yea - when you create (bind) the runtime solution in Advanced, there should be an option for that.
January 28, 200619 yr Author Well, the only option I see is this "Closing splash screen [Preview]" I don't seem to be able to find any other option where I can disable. NotPro
February 15, 200619 yr Sorry - I meant to say yes, there is a way to change the splash screen. I'm not aware of completely removing it, though.
February 16, 200619 yr I sure would be interested in HOW. This has been a bone of contention since the thing became permanent in version 5 (or was it 4). AFAIK, you are stuck with it as it is. Someone please prove me wrong, and post a workaround. Lee
February 17, 200619 yr I'm supposing that one can't remove the splash screen because FileMaker has to have their name in the program runtime SOMEwhere. However, the big graphic can be changed to whatever one desires. This is done when creating the runtime in Pro Advanced.
February 20, 200619 yr Came across this - http://www.kiosk2win.com/ This has the ability to create a kiosk moded runtime with wraparound gui that still alows users to use windows environment and remove the filemaker splash, not sure which versions it works with. would love for them to release a remove splash screen only though
February 28, 200619 yr I've tried to change the splash screen several times...I choose the graphic (jpg) I want, but it never replaces the default FileMaker one.
March 18, 200619 yr Had good success changing the splash. Has to be EXACTLY the right size and type of graphic.
April 10, 200619 yr To get around this create a splash screen and turn it into a exe file. (on Windows xp I use Tin Splash its free) On your closing script have filemaker open the splash screen and make sure bring app to front is selected. As long as your splash screen is larger than the filemaker splash it will simply be covered up.
April 25, 200619 yr The use of a "coverall" splash sounds like a great solution but I haven't been able to locate Tin Splash. Would you happen to know of a current download site for it?
April 26, 200619 yr Solved! It turns out that the name of the utility is actually TinSplash. It can be located at: http://www.desktopian.org/tinsplash.html
May 19, 200619 yr Newbies I can e-mail you a fix that eliminates the nasty "made with filemaker" thing at the end of the runtime exit. Do you want it to also not show the "..portions of this software..." text? I can get you one that only shows your splash graphic, or your splash and the "...portions of..." underneath... For FMPRO Advanced 8v3...
