I am having a problem with FMP5 serving RealPlayer ram files and am womdering whether the problem is related to FMP5. In particular it raises the question, how does FMP handle mime types. When configuring a web server such as WebStar, you need to configure the server to handle particular mime types. How does FMP5 do this? I would appreciate any input as it seems quite a limitation at this stage.

FM WC is not full HTTP server.

It is designed to serve mainly data from FM plus some basic pictures and QT.

Of course I am incorrect. I didn't look hard enough. The CDML tag is there in Unlimited 5! What is new in FMU 5.5? How does it run? Are you on Mac or PC? Stability? Speed? Still open the security window?

But what is also true is "FM WC is not full HTTP server". You can test that with frameset pages. That is served very slow from WC.

In any case -- you earned ***** from me smile.gif

Anatoli - you are incorrect. YOu can specify mime-types in the new Filemaker Pro 5.5 Unlimited or Limited. See the help file for more info. You merely specify a mime type text file in the System folder of the Filemaker Pro folder with the desired mime-type. I did it to export xls (excel) type data from the web companion in a found set - and it works fine. There is also the

[FMP-ContentMimeType] cmdl tag you can use in your html . . . . see CDML Reference for more details.
