import faxes to filemaker database

Featured Replies

I'm trying to figure out a way to import incoming faxes into a filemaker pro database.

Any ideas?

The setup i have in mind is one where the fax machine apart from printing out received faxes also saves them as PDF or whatever image format and then have those files imported into a database.

What fax machine could also save the incoming faxes as PDFs or image files and how would you go about importing them in a database?

Try Snappy Fax at SnappySoftware.com for PC. An excellen software with a lot of features with a reasonable price !

For the import part you probably have to use a Plug in to automate the process and is somewhat cumbersum.

I receive faxes through efax.com, and they arrive into my email as an attached tif file. Since Mailit, the email plugin, will separate attachments from the main email, it might be possible to receive faxes by email and separate them that way.

Kinda far out, but it could work.

I have an old mac setup to receive faxes electronically, print them to a specific printer, and aotomatically email to an email account that I check with FileMaker and the 'mialIt' plugin - works a treat!
