emjay Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Still a Noob but getting better. I have 3 tables Groups, Contacts and Joiner. Each has a unique ID field. Contacts can be in many Groups and Joiner is the table that stores Group IDs and related Contact ID. I have a layout which shows a Group and a Portal that show the related Contacts. This part works fine. Sometimes a Group will have several hundred Contacts. Is there a way I can locate a particular Contact within the portal? And also, if possible - is there a way to do the search similar to Apple Finder searches where you start typing letters and it filters? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers M
mr_vodka Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Go John Mark Osborne's website and type in "type ahead" for the find criteria.
Lee Smith Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 is there a way to do the search similar to Apple Finder searches where you start typing letters and it filters? Have you tried using the Auto - Complete using previously entered data on the field? Lee
LaRetta Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 If you want to 'quick-jump' down through a portal to first alpha (but maintain the original relationship on the portal), try this approach (Comment's demo file) Scan alpha in portal It is extremely easy and, if you uncheck 'reset scroll bar' on portal setup, Users can scan and search and work all they wish.
emjay Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Once again, much obliged to you all. Cheers
