Newbies swilson Posted February 17, 2002 Newbies Posted February 17, 2002 I am working on a personal ad site, using CDML (I may convert to Lasso later). In order to allow users to upload their photographs, I need to use WebStar's File upload plug-in. I have used applescript to create a folder for that user, and place the necessary files in that folder for Webstar's fileupload plug-in to work., and then create a link that will take that user to their own upload.html file in their own folder. This all works fine, except I need to take the user back to his/her ad page after the file is uploaded. I can't do this because I can't pass cdml tags to the upload page, since it's served by webstar instead of filemaker. How can I make webstar recognize the cdml tags, without switching to lasso?
Garry Claridge Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Maybe you could use frames or windows to host the various pages. Good Luck. Garry
Newbies swilson Posted February 17, 2002 Author Newbies Posted February 17, 2002 One solution i came up with is to use a pop-up window for the webstar-served upload page. From the ad page served by fmp, the user would click on a link to upload a photo - this would open up a new window with the upload page. When the upload is done, there would be a "close window button", and the user would be back on the same web companion-served page they were just at. I know a better solution would be to use lasso, but I can't afford to get the proffessional version right now and the light version doesn't do everything I need. Does anyone know if you can pass a fmp value from a web-companion served page, to a lasso-lite page being served by webstar, and back again? By the way, I am using Filemaker pro 5 Unlimited on a mac, with Webstar 4.3. I have heard of the Web Server Connector, but don't seem to have it - is this only available for Windows?
Anatoli Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 WSC is on separate CD in Unlimited. Are you saying you received on single CD with Unlimited?
