welby Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi does anyone know how to create a simple list of numbers that dwindles as you choose them. I have one number field with a drop down list of numbers 1-10 and I want the end user to allocate a unique number to a small amount of records. 14 records max. Yes I have seen some of the examples on here, but they seem overcomplicated for my requirement. In other words far too complicated for me to understand. Thanks in advance
mr_vodka Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 The video on FM Magazine's site may help you better comprehend the concept but it does require a subscription. Here is a list of the best techniques. Dwilinding List techniques

Sometimes "simple" features are quite complicated to implement. I'd count Conditional value lists and dwindling value lists among them. Rather than look for simpler solutions, learn how to do it correctly. Its a good way to learn about relational data design.
