Leather Knight Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Ok, I have 2 "modules" or databases. Linked. If Tommy is a member (Members DB). He is involved in an investigation (Investigations DB2). I have him listed in Investigations if he is a member. Now...I have 2 fields, one in each db. Case Number in members, and members in Investigations. They both are check boxes. If you check "Tommy's" box in Investigations, I want it to "automatically check the box in case numbers to this case." I hope I get this across.... If you check a box in one, then it will check it in another db automatically... Thanks.. This has me bugged;)

Leather Knight Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 No different issue. In this one I need to have one action do 2 things. If one box is checked, then in the other module/db it is also checked.
Leather Knight Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 Hmm. Interesting, it would seem like someone would have an answer to this...
bcooney Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Kevin, my impression from your questions is that you do not have your data model correct. You've somehow formed an incorrect idea of how relationships work, and it's leading you to develop atypical interface techniques. I would suggest revisiting your basic structure. Why not start a post that includes information about the tables that you have and the relationships btw them. Also include a brief explanation of the purpose of the system. I truly believe that if you have the foundation correct, the interface issues will be less cumbersome to develop. If I've missed a post that has this info, pls point me to it.
