Default font problem

FM 9, for some reason when I add a field to a layout, is automatically putting the font of that field into Old English 36 point, rather than my default font, Palatino. I can change it back after it's on the layout but anything new on starts out in this strange way. Why this new behavior and how to change it?

You can set FileMaker Font for new Files using FileMaker Preference when it open, but you don't have a file open. This will be applied to new Databases in the Future.
