field in portal display in the first line and also the second line

Featured Replies

Hello every one,

I have this problem with my portal, hoping that you can shed some light. one of the field in my portal is displaying twice, first line and second line, and if I try to delete the second line, then the content of the first line also got deleted. I tried to recreated the portal but the same thing happened. Hope that I have explained myself clearly. Thanks for the help.

Hard to tell from here, but it sounds like the field in question doesn't belong to the same table occurrence that the portal is 'looking into'.

Hello comment,

Thank you for the reply, isn't true that any fields from the related table can be placed inside a portal?

One big good morning to you,

I had the field in the wrong table, fixed it. Thanks a million.

Yes and no. You don't actually put 'fields from tables' inside a portal (or onto a layout in general). You put fields from table occurrences. Tables (or base tables) are what you see when you are under the 'Tables' tab in 'Manage Database...'. Table occurrences are what you see in the relationships graph. Each base table can have several table occurrences in the graph. So tables are not related, only table occurrences are - and if you put the correct field from the wrong table occurrence inside a portal, it's not going to work.

However, I am not at all sure that is your problem - it was merely a guess. We need a much more detailed description (perhaps you should simply attach a file showing the problem).
