Light text color: Dark background?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm building a solution that has a primarily dark background, with light-colored text (yellow, white etc.). When I enter an edit field or pop-up menu to make changes or make a selection, the background reverts to white, which is a crazy difficult color to edit white text against...

Anyone have any idea if that's something I can change?

Many thanks

Are your header, body, and/or footer colors transparent or the dark background? If the background color you are asking about is the body color, it should not change during editing.

Thanks Sunshein, but my text is actually sitting over imported graphics... here's an image:

I think I'm now understanding you problem a bit better. Off hand, I don't know where or if you can change the contrasting color which appears whenever you goto a field for editing. There may be a difference if your field background is clear and sitting over your graphic. If so, try filling in a background color for the field or change the text color.

If the field itself has a fill color, it will retain its color during editing. If it is transparent, you will see the fill color of the layout part - ignoring all layers in between. So either match the field's fill to the graphic, or set the layout's part fill to a dark color.

You can format the popup field text to whatever color you like for viewing the popup list. Then use an auto-enter calculation, TextColor( ), to make the text your desired display color.
