Append to Job Number via script

Featured Replies

I have a db that we use to track production times. Sometimes there are multiple parts to a job. At this time, I only have a way to track time for the whole job. I capture set up time, run time and clean up time. If there are 4 parts to a job, I need to capture those 3 times for each part. I have created a table for this purpose and am going to create additional job tickets for each of these parts. I now have it setup to create as many tickets as there are parts, but I need to append a letter and number to the end of each new ticket number to reflect that part of the job. So, for example, if the original number is 12345, I need the additional numbers to be 12345 1A, 12345 1B, 12345 2A, 12345 2B and so on. Any ideas?

I don't guarantee this is exactly what you are looking for, but, I think it should get you going in the right direction. I'm sure someone with a lot more experience would accomplish it with a great deal more elegance, but, it works.

That looks pretty good. Can you unlock the file for me? I want to see how you fields are set up but I can't get access.

Thanks

Hi Scott,

I tried to download and look at the file. I think the file now has been unlocked? You can try it again.

Have you been able to open it yet? Let me know. I do not know why that happened as I don't lock any of my files.
