I am creating an inventory database and maintenance is one of the things I am tracking. This means I need to know when it begins and ends. I am not sure that this is a "must-have' or that it gains anything but is there a way that rather then typing in a date I can cursor over this field and have a calendar pop up so I can select from it?

I believe that Tool Tip is a feature of Advance, not the Standard Addition of FileMaker.

Also, I don't see a way to add the drop down calendar to the Tool.

You could use an event script plugin with the tooltip to simulate this, with a go to field/select in your script, but I dont really see the value in this since it is a lot slower than just clicking in the field for the calendar popup anyway.

See: Help > Editing objects on layouts > Selecting and working with objects on a layout > Setting up a field to display a drop-down calendar.

You will have to click the field (or tab into it) to pop the calendar, though.
