Is there a way to show a $var/$$var on a FMP10 layout?

Perhaps using that powerful tool called Webviewer?

You need to have 8.5 or higher to use or see a Web Viewer. Your Profile shows v7.

As Barbara says, you need the Advance Edition of FileMaker to create a Custom Function.
