Dani R Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 i am trying to make a find script that will do a find in all the fields in the way of spotlight can anybody help me?
LaurenKuhlman Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 If you have FM10, this is a lot easier. If not, its still possible. Here is a quick example (not written by me) on how to do it with FM10: http://www.excelisys.com/web/downloads/files/SearchFilter.zip
Dani R Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 thank you. The problem is That in a layout i have 5 Fields i need to make the find from 5 of the fields?
bcooney Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 This thread might help. An upgrade to FM10 will also help, since a script trigger will let the find happen as the user types. But, a good old Find layout is what I recommend. It's difficult to account for every find combination and field set. You might be painting scripting yourself into a corner.
Dani R Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) I read what you post. I did not under stand how to do a find on 5 fields on the same layout ? (that if i enter in the shrch "dan" it will do a find in all the 5 fields) Edited August 8, 2009 by Guest
Lee Smith Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 As you can see by the links provided, there are couple of ways to have a Spotlight search. Here is another file, Link, that nightwing has free for downloading, it's the method I prefer. Before these new tools were available, I would have used a calculation field and searched it. Search Field (Calculation, Text Result) = FirstName & " " & LastName & " " & Company & " " & City & " " & ZIP HTH Lee
