Can not import .fmp file?

Featured Replies

My application has 8 tables. The main layout (called INPUT) has 6 records. The other tables are mostly 'transaction' tables.

Here is the problem.

I create a Cloned version of my app. Then I import the data into that version from a working version. When that occurs, I only get 1 table of records imported and all the other tables show with their relationships but they have no records.

Waz up with that? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

How exactly are you doing the import? Step by step is possible.

Thank you for the reply.

I perform these steps:

I open the empty/cloned database

I select: File/ImportRecords/ and select the .fmp with the data records.

I select let it import the records.

It seems like it should import all the related records in the related tables also. But it doesn't...

It occurs to me, if I have 8 tables do have to select a layout with each table on it and then perform the import for each one? ugh...

Yes.

A development I'm doing has nearly 60 such layouts required - works perfect.

Thanks for the input.

It seems logical that FM would allow a 'import from related records' option when importing. The way it is if you have 10 tables you have to access the layout of each table and then import from it into the corresponding table. ugh...

Oh well. Maybe v11
