Adding Records to the portal via PHP

I have a layout designed with 5 portal regions in it. Now I am working on the PHP form to add record to all the fields and the portal region in the database. I am novice to FMSTUDIO and dont know how to design form fields to insert data into portal regions. I selected form builder and selected all the fields from the layout (including the portal region) and created form and on the response page I have created New Query to add record in the database. But this doesnt seems to work. Do I have to treat portal regions in different way while creating forms or during the response page ? If there is any another approach for doing this please let me know. Thanks in advance.

In FMStudio your best way to work with forms and portals is to have a separate page that adds the related portal record. There are quite a few limitations with web forms and portals, therefore treating each row as its own record is the best way at this time.

Otherwise with FMStudio Pro which is in the process of getting released now, there is an editable portal region server behavior which does exactly what you need. So that's definitely something to watch for.
