Is there a limit to the number of number field in portal?

Strange.. I have a portal that i am adding a 4th numerical field ... The field displays Yes, when i click on it i see my numbers..

Pd Price

Recv Qty

Sell price

Qty Bal

And Date

I 've change field names, created a new... added a 5th field being a text type okay

Copied a good num field to, change it flips doing the same thing?

When I open the file, create a form and browse via Filemaker my data is fine..

There no field CONTROL setup

Create completely new field same strange thing

Hard to say. Your description is incomprehensible. Flipping fields? What?

You tell us, you have the file?

If you are renaming your fields, and the labels are not changing, you need to select the fields in Layout Mode, and check the box that "Creates Label" for the filed. Either that, or make a new layout using the fields, and that should create what you want.

Short of that, attach a copy of your file, and we can take a look.

I suppose your suggestion.. make a new layout. maybe there is some bad internal links

Or copy the whole program to a new folder and start cutting to see when i loose bad links

I copied my several files to a different hard drive.. and did not get the same effect of that 'YES' display in my var box ....as video shows..

Guess its my defrag time next test after that

while i sleep I am encourage and can't recall this kind of a problem b4

Hi Rod,

At the default level, you have specified your numbers to be boolean Yes. Default level controls your fonts, sizes etc.

Don't select anything on your layout (while in layout mode) then go to Format > Number and take a look. Change it now to general format or whatever you prefer. Now when you go drag new copy of that field onto your layout, it will display as number again. :wink2:

None of what you are doing has anything to do with this problem.

It is a number format problem. The one field option you did NOT select in all your mousing around between menu choices.

Select the field, choose Format:Number

Also do a LaRetta suggests to reset the default number format.

Didn't figure that one,

I am still learning this, even after so much..

Problem got set setting a single variable in the night... and i had set the default by mistake..

Too many hours

at least I got my drive defrag/ was down to 14%/ and achieved 40gB
