February 26, 201015 yr Newbies As a film production company we are looking for someone to help us keep track of our projects and stay organized. Current project management solutions we've tried do not fit our particular needs, but that's more to do with our pickiness on how this system would work than because we need something unique film projects. This would be used for keeping track of statuses and major players / events / actions taken for projects. Someone with strong Filemaker experience shouldn't have too much trouble with this one! Just SOME of the Reqs: Automatically piping status updates entered for different projects in the main tracking spreadsheet to separate streams for each project, a way to drag and drop different files or folders or contacts into projects to keep organized, cloud or server based access for editing through web browser or remotely when needed. Email me for the full rundown! Mattp.ts at gmail.com PS -- my "FileMaker Profile" is a bit off b/c I don't actually HAVE it, just am looking for a good freelancer and thought of posting on this board. Thank you all for your time!
February 26, 201015 yr Hi Matt, and welcome to the Forum. You didn't state a perferred method of contact for inquires, so interested canidates will contact you via Private Topic unless you provide a email address (none is shown in your Profile), or web site. Question: Is this a position that can be done long distance, or does the developer need to be in your area (wherever that is). Lee

February 26, 201015 yr Author Newbies Hi Matt, and welcome to the Forum. Thanks Lee! Question: Is this a position that can be done long distance, or does the developer need to be in your area (wherever that is). As you can probably tell, we're trying some new things for us by doing this to get our system together. Suffice it to say that I see no reason why someone would have to be on-site for this. We're looking for a contract for the finished product / possibly some support for it rather than offering a position.
February 26, 201015 yr Author Newbies Have you searched the FileMaker web site for solutions? http://developer.filemaker.com/solutions/results/?sol_industry_creative=1&sol_region_amr=1 No I have not. However, we're really looking to get something that is specifically geared to give us exactly what we want out of this kind of system. While I see no reason why a pre-built solution wouldn't work, it's the specificity of what we're asking for that makes it hard to see finding something good there. So while I'm looking at these, anyone who's interested in the job should still shoot me an email! mattp.ts at gmail.com!
February 27, 201015 yr It's always cheaper to modify an existing system than to create one from scratch. What kind of budget do you think a bespoke database system would require?
